In the early design phase, Rhys brought brilliant ideas to the table—like the layout of the combination of brick with thermally treated timber cladding, and the use of corner-opening stacker sliders on to a covered deck, which has completely transformed the indoor/outdoor living space. He truly understood our vision and helped elevate it with thoughtful interior design suggestions - tile setouts, lighting details, fireplace finishing, recessed blinds, joinery enhancements and loads of finishing details. The clever use and highly detailed finish of the timber cladding inside has created an amazing continuity between inside and out, and at the same time a nice separation between the living space and bedrooms. Totally stoked with that!! Rhys was always on the lookout for cost savings without compromising materials or his own high standards. Some great improvements suggested/recommended too. Rhys’ communication is excellent—always keeping us informed, while also showing great judgment on when to check in with us and when to just get on with it. It made the whole process an enjoyable experience. His team, including Jake and Garnet, were equally professional and a pleasure to deal with too. Rhys is someone you can completely trust with your home. We couldn’t be happier with the result and would recommend Upfront Builders to anyone looking to build or renovate their home.”
