“WARNING! A recent unpleasant experience with this company has prompted me write this review. I needed to get a truck Gas Safe certified Nelson Plumbing was chosen based on their website that claims: You can trust us to take care of all aspects of your plumbing, gas fitting, heating and backflow requirements as we are dedicated to being the best plumbing company in Nelson. In general this is approx a $1500 job. (3 quotes obtained after the fact). Plus I am a boat builder so know what it takes to create a compartment in an existing cupboard. Half way through the job the owner/operator called up and asked me if I could finish off the job!!! Not wanting to miss an opportunity I agreed. Expecting to pay around $1k we were invoiced almost $3k which came as a bit of a bitter pill I can say! When we asked for a breakdown, an entire day was billed to cut 3 small squares of ply, screw and fit. (easy open access). 5 hours for an apprentice. When asked to justify those apprentice' hours we were told he had to hold the box from the outside whilst it was screwed. And here's the kicker. $25 for a gas bottle strap and because he didnt have one in stock charged 3 hours @ $100/hour o go out any buy oner! Why did we pay it? He refused to release the truck until it was paid. Times are hard enough!”
