“Our company (a local software developer) required a construction team to help complete an office fit out due to our prior lease arrangements no longer meeting our requirements. After engaging with Iconic Construction to discuss our vision of what our new workspace needed for functionality and design, the team at Iconic agreed to assist without hesitation. “We recently chose Iconic Construction to do a refurb on our house. We had purchased the house off the plans 20 years ago so we were ready to modernise. The key pieces of work we required were to remove the kitchen, and all tiles in kitchen, entryway and near ranchsliders. Close off a hallway and create walls to make a butlers pantry. Soundproof the walls for the main lounge. Replace lounge door with a cavity door. Replace all door furniture. Support the kitchen company insert new kitchen. Remove a window where butlers pantry would be and brick the outside. This was also alongside new floor and window coverings and a full internal house and garage paint. Johnny did a thorough walk through with us to initially gauge the scope of work for the quote. We commenced the work early april 25 and final work was done early June 25. Overall the refurb was done with and by professional extremely capable tradespeople. From the chippie, sparky, plumber, plasterer. The team worked extremely well together and their respect for not just each other but as clients living on site the duration of the refurb. Their banter during the day was a joy to listen too and their music choice wasn't too bad either. If this is the overall state nationally of the skill level of our trades people then NZ is in great hands from a trade perspective. During the refurb if any changes were required, these were discussed collectively and options provided. They all understood the end state that we were trying to achieve and both my husband and I and our family believe that they achieved that and more. I feel we have an adult house now, that our house grew up and is fit for our next generation which is our mokopuna. The execution of the work was overseen by Mike B. Our main chippie on site was Marley whom on a day to day basis was our key contact. We really connected with Marley and are grateful for his capability and motivation to visualize what we wanted. Their weekly electronic updates were welcomed. They gave a round up of what happened that week and then a look ahead to what was on the plan for the next week. Their end of refurb check was completed digitally, which again was a delight for me to be a part of. To wrap up my husband and I are super grateful for Johnny, Mike B, Marley, Garet, Raph, Pete and Britt. The outcome of the project far outweighed our expectations.
