“Edit: Just a week after my review this business has seemingly coerced their employees (named reviewers are the same as on the website) to leave multiple 5 star reviews when they had NO reviews from anyone prior. Gross. Prior: Repeatedly missed deadlines, unreplied emails, repeatedly having to reping on emails, forgetting to include our requests in the designs, completely missing a scheduled call, not hearing back after missing the call (despite me calling and emailing to see where they were). Following the missed meeting I was told via an unapologetic email that they would be back in touch "asap". A week goes by, no word. I ping again and their email auto reply says they've gone off for a month's vacation. So much for "as soon as possible." I believe Espaso would agree that we had been incredibly patient. If what we experienced was just the planning stage, how do their installs ever get done timely? We wasted 6+ months of our timeline plus hours of our time chasing after things. After we expressed our frustrations it went from lack of professionalism to lack of respect when the owner said "I understand when you enquired and you were told how busy we were." To insinuate that numerous delays and blatant disregard we've experienced should be expected because a business said they were "busy" is insulting to say the least. The onsite and in office meetings we had with them were nice. They had some ideas we were ready to engage them for despite the very high prices we were quoted. Ultimately due to their nonreplies and inaction getting any project across the finish line was an impossibility. I was going to take the high road and not write a review as Hawkes Bay is small and being a business owner is hard. But this week I was informed by our new landscapers that due to Espaso's delays we have in fact missed the window to do several our unirrigated native plantings and we must now wait until Fall which puts us a whole planting season behind where we wanted to be. These were the reasons I engaged Espaso 6-9 months earlier and so now, this is and all of the above are the reasons for my review.”
