“Abode Flooring expensive low quality flooring.Scratches, marks, discolours, expands in the sun and lifts the joints. We complained to the local company but no support or resolution.”

“Malcolm has been fantastic. We purchased carpet from him and it was all laid perfectly. He advised us on vinyl plank flooring that we also purchased from him and he came around on many occasions to give us advice on how to lay it. Thanks Malcom for great service and advice. Much appreciated. Sue and John”

“Having done due diligence I decided to work with Choices Flooring Rotorua for the flooring of our Kitchen and Living area renovation – a decision I now regret. Everything started great with good advice and support, but pretty much as soon as they had my money they were not remotely interested in me as a customer anymore. The first issue - Malcolm Pearce pre-charged me for a small area of carpeting relaying (carpet and underlay supplied) for a reasonable minimum charge of $287.50. I was assured at the time that it would be no problem to complete the job with a week’s notice. I tried to get them to organise this job to be done over a period of a few weeks but kept being told that they couldn’t supply anyone to do the work. After a few attempts one of Pearce’s employees (Myrtle) said I should organise it myself and they would refund the money. I found a professional carpet layer to do the job in less than a week. I received a refund 5 weeks later. The second issue was that the signature range flooring provided had numerous broken panels straight out of the box. I provided photos of the broken floor panels. The broken pieces were not in the boxes, showing that the panels were damaged before being packaged, so were not the fault of Choices Flooring, or me. Another employee (May) promised to follow up with this but nothing was ever communicated to me. The third issue is that after completing the job I had the equivalent of three boxes of flooring left over. The number of boxes was ordered by Malcolm after he did the measure up personally. It’s inevitable that there will be some extras left after completing a job but the leftovers amounted to nearly $1000 of unnecessary outlay, and Malcolm would not even contemplate taking back any of the product.”

“Really great job of our bathroom floor, sanded and varnished - 5 stars. However, very poor job of our kitchen vinyl floor though. Developed air bubbles soon after installation. Manager said it's because 'our floor moves' and that 'the glues they have to use these days aren't as good as they used to be'. The previous vinyl floor had no such issues. Our independent advisor said it was simply a case of the vinyl not being glued down properly. Choices offered to replace but we had been through so much upheaval we said we'd live with the dozen or so snap, crackle and pop air bubbles for a couple of years - minus 4 stars. So 1 star overall.”
